PATCH NOTES / A LITTLE HELP FOR YOUR NEXT POST

Before you send
it for review.

A checklist you can use for your next social post, followed by a worked café example. No account needed.

Put the right version in front of the right person.

  1. Choose the business account and channel the post is for.
  2. Keep the final caption and its matching photo or video together.
  3. Check dates, prices, names and the next step. Open the booking link if there is one.
  4. Add useful image alternative text. Describe the detail someone needs to understand the post.
  5. Ask the reviewer for one clear decision: approve this version or explain what needs changing.

If the post changes after review, share the revised version before treating it as approved.

A café post, before and after feedback.

First draft

Fresh cinnamon buns this weekend. Pop in early and pick your favourite window seat.

The reviewer asks: “When will Saturday’s buns be ready?”

Revised example

Saturday’s cinnamon buns will be ready from 9am. Pop in for a coffee and pick your favourite window seat.

The revision answers the question with a specific time. In a real post, confirm that time with the café before sending the new version for approval.

Approval, scheduling and publishing are different steps.

Approval records a decision on a version. Scheduling gives the post a time and destination. After that time, check for a confirmed publishing result or a problem that needs attention.
